Happy Half Birthday!

A full year is WAY too long to wait, so we've decided celebrating half-birthdays was a tradition we needed to start.  We'll get better at it in time, but this time we kept it very, very simple.

Mae is officially 5 1/2 years old!
We celebrated with half plates, half cups, half birthday hats and half of a pie
(which turned out to be a lot of pie for us 4).
We had our dessert and found out Will hates coconut.

Then, we played Hullabaloo and Old Maid (Mae's requests).
After that she got one half-wrapped present, a little tiny Little Mermaid doll which has been her constant companion ever since!

I think any reason to celebrate is worth it, so I love having an extra day to honor Mae and Will on their half-birthdays.

Later that night Mae quietly said,
"Mom thank you so much for this Ariel doll, I really love it...

But... is that all?  Just one present???"

LOL! How fun! You should've replied to Mae that you were only going to give her half a doll, but that she was very lucky to get the whole thing.
