Our next stop was St. Lucia. It was a gorgeous island with a vastly different scenery than the other islands. It has some big mountains and peaks called the Pitons. Our taxi driver suggested we check out Pigeon Island. Its not really an island, but a peninsula. There was some pretty good snorkeling although the men just enjoyed it while the ladies chilled on the beach... someone had to watch our stuff the whole time!
The second we arrived some young men were asking if we wanted to do horseback rides in the water-- just the thought of riding a wet horse, bareback sounded kind of gross so we declined but that didn't stop them from riding the horses up and down the beach all day! Some other guys asked if we wanted to buy chairs for the day... for $10 we had two chairs and an umbrella for the day. We were very happy with that!
This is what us ladies did all day... it was wonderful.
There were millions of shells everywhere so I had a great time finding some good ones. Then Matt says, a boat is coming!
Look at that cute little boat! He blew a horn with his conch shell and pulled up ashore.
He had a boat full of tropical fruit. We tried soursop which was really good-- tasted like pineapple/strawberry/creamy fruit, starfruit which was WAY better than when I'd had it before and we tried papaya which tasted like Cheetos... I have no idea... it was just weird. The fresh coconut was also amazing.
There were some little shacks selling sodas, shells, shirts, bags, etc... we checked them out and got a few things. It was interesting because by the end our of cruise we had seen the same things to buy on every island, but with their island name on it... hmm... interesting how they say they "handmade" everything when its all the same! One lady had her grandson and he was the CUTEST little baby... if it wouldn't have sounded creepy I would have volunteered to take him swimming (just a few feet away) on the beach.

There was a cute family with twin boys a few feet away. They were cute. I'd definitely love to take my kids on this cruise!
As you can see the water was really calm. It was extremely hot that day and the water felt great. The water wasn't super clear like it had been at our previous stops but it was still really nice.
Stephanie and Brenda buying some bracelets from the local hustlers. Once again we were offered "Bob Marley" throughout the day like it was completely normal. I asked one guy who was selling bracelets what his name was and he said, "Peter the great," or "Dr. Feel-Good," depending on who you talk to. He had no front teeth... just as a side-note, but was very friendly. Matt bought some fresh aloe from him and he had a joint in his mouth while he talked to Matt!
