MAUI days 1 and 2!

Day 1
The day before, we drove to California. Matt's parents were so wonderful to watch Mae and Will while we were gone. We went to church with our kiddos, said goodbye and drove to Los Angeles to catch our flight. Along the way we also picked up some stragglers who missed the flight out of Salt Lake at John Wayne Airport so we could all make it out of LAX.

We are still in disbelief that we got on that flight! There were 50 others on standby as well! We loved the plane though, lots of movies, tv and games to play which made it go by so fast.
Day 2
Because of the 4 hour time difference, we were all up and ready at 6am! We decided to drive to La Peruse Bay, so try to get a look at some dolphins. It was beautiful!

We didn't find the dolphins, but some of our men went snorkeling and got out of the water just in time when a policeman came to arrest anyone in the protected waters... oops!
We had lunch at 9am because we had been up for so long and then went to the beach right across the street from our condos.

This is Kamaole Beach I

After laying out and swimming, we were up for more adventure and went to see the Iao Needle. It was gorgeous!

The girls: Brenda, Nanette, Mom, me, Dena and Steph

The boys: Max, Matt, Thomas and George

You'd think the day was over, but not for us! We heard about a blowhole on the north side of the island and it didn't look too far on the maps! So we headed out on this adventure. We drove on some very winding roads, some only with room enough for one car. It was the most beautiful place I'd ever seen! We learned that my mom actually gets very carsick... poor thing! So once it was dark we headed back, although it was 3 more hours back!
I think this was a picture of the blowhole, but it wasn't blowing... we stood there for a few minutes. The wind was so strong it about knocked me over.
It was a great day!
